What to watch this Halloween weekend: Our 2022 Spooky Streaming Guide!

From comedies to dramas, thrillers to slasher movies - there is something for everyone to watch this Halloween. Whether you're into horror movies or not,  you can still celebrate the spooky season!

When it comes to Halloween, we are never let down with the amount of movies to watch on all the various streaming platforms, and it's looking like this year will be no different.

The selection of TV series and movies to choose from is to die for. However, it does make choosing what to watch a tough decision.

To help you decide, here is our streaming guide on what to watch this Halloween weekend!

Disney +

As part of their Hallowstream throughout the month of October, Disney + have announced several boo releases, creepy classics, shocking shorts, frightful faves AND eerie episodes for all the family to enjoy this spooky season. Here are the boo releases from Disney + this month.

Hocus Pocus 2

The Sanderson sisters are BACK! Can you believe it's been 29 years since the first Hocus Pocus movie? No, we can't believe it either! The wait is FINALLY over and the wait is definitely worth it. A movie for the whole family to enjoy, Hocus Pocus 2 is funny, entertaining and will have you cackling like a witch! (We've already watched it a handful of times).

Werewolf by Night

A black and white Marvel horror. A secret group of monster hunters gather at Bloodstone Manor following the death of their leader and engage in a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic, which will bring them face to face with a dangerous monster.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along

Now I don't know about you but we already sing along with this movie ANYWAY so the thought of a sing along version is just music to our ears. You can sing along with the iconic song such as "This Is Halloween" and "What's This?" and fully immerse yourself in the music and feel like you are a part of the cast with on-screen lyrics.

Under Wraps 2

Another Halloween treat for all the family to enjoy. Under Wraps 2 is the sequel to the eerie-sistably fun Halloween Disney Channel Original Movie "Under Wraps". The new movie picks up as Marshall, Gilbert and Amy are getting ready to attend Amy's father's Spooktacular Halloween themed wedding. However, plans soon go awry when the three friends discover their mummy pal Harold and his beloved Rose may be in danger.

Super/Natural

Something a little different and not THAT spooky is Super Natural. From National Geographic, witness the secret powers of extraordinary animals, experience the world as they do and see the super/natural side of nature as never before. Super/Natural is executive produced by James Cameron and narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Yes, we know that this doesn't SCREAM Halloween but the title is cool.

Into the Woods Sing - Along

Another sing-along for you to enjoy. Who doesn't love a sing-along? Now we might not be able to hit the intense notes in some of the musical numbers, but we sure will give it a go!

Netflix

Netflix never disappoints when it comes to the spooky season. Here are just a few of the new releases on the streaming platform for Halloween.

The Midnight Club - Season 1

Based on the Christopher Pike young adult novel, this new series follows a group of five ill patients at a hospice who share scary stories with each other at night.

Apparently The Midnight Club has already entered the Guinness Book of Records for the amount of jump scares in a TV show ever. If that doesn't make you add it to your watch list, then I don't know what will...

The Curse of Bridge Hollow

Now we all love a Halloween comedy right? The Curse of Bridge Hollow is the new Halloween comedy movie for 2022 starring Marlon Wayans and Stranger Things star Priah Ferguson.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow is a Netflix original movie that follows a Halloween-hating dad and his daughter who are forced to team up and save their town after an ancient and mischievous spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc.

We’ve already watched this movie ahead of Halloween and we can confirm that it is suitable for children and will have you laughing into your popcorn.

The School for Good and Evil

Pushed back for the Halloween season, The School for Good and Evil has been the most anticipated movie for Netflix this month. The premise follows best friends Sophie and Agatha, who put their bond up to the test and when they're whisked away to a magical school for future fairy-tale heroes and villains. If you're a big fan of fantastical schools or witchy academies then you are bound to love this movie.

28 Days Haunted (Season 1)

This is a series that we are most excited about! 28 Days Haunted is a brand new reality series where we see three teams spending 28 days in some of America's most haunted locations. Based on the theories of Ed and Lorriane Warren.

The Watcher

Based on a true story, The Watcher begins when a family moves into their dream home, only to be plagued by odd letters, strange neighbours and sinister threats. What a nightmare (literally!).

Wendell & Wild

From the director of Caroline and The Nightmare Before Christmas, comes a new stop-motion animated movie featuring the voice of Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key.

Wendell & Wild is about two scheming demon brothers who must face their arch-nemesis and attempt to move over to the land of the living.

Unsolved Mysteries (Volume 3)

Unsolved Mysteries is back just in time for the spooky season. The show goes through real-life cases, investigating paranormal activities, murders, and disappearances that remain unsolved.

The Good Nurse

If you love fictionalised tales of real-life serial killers, then this eerie thriller is one to add to your watch list. The Good Nurse tells the true story of Charles Cullen and stars award winners Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne.

Prime Video

My Best Friend's Exorcism

Nestled somewhere between classic '80s horror flick and teen comedy, My Best Friend's Exorcism sees best friends Abbey (Elsie Fisher) and Gretchen (Amiah Miller), explore a mysterious building where a girl had been sacrificed. There, Gretchen becomes the host to an evil spirit and Abbey teams up with their friends to expel the demon and bring back the real Gretchen.

Run Sweetheart Run

Two years ago, Run Sweetheart Run premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, now it's finally getting its worldwide release on Prime Video today! In this spine-tingling thriller, a woman tries to get home alive after her blind date turns violent.

If you're looking for a solid scare this Halloween weekend, Run Sweetheart Run is the perfect movie.

The Devil's Hour

This Amazon Original British thriller TV series tells the story of a woman who wakes up at 3:33am (the devil's hour) each night to receive a disturbing vision.

The Peripheral

Based on William Gibson's 2014 mystery thriller novel of the same name. The Peripheral is a Prime Video Original sci-fi series starring Chloe Grace Moretz. This series gives you a surreal look at the potential future of humanity and the possibilities of what darkness might lie ahead. We recommend adding this to your watchlist.
