What’s On Our Movie Radar This Month 🎬
The cinema’s calling, and July and August are serving up some great reasons to go!
The next couple of months are packed with exciting new releases, and we’ve already got a few lined up to watch. From new dino-action in Jurassic World: Rebirth to superhero comebacks in Superman: Legacy and Fantastic Four: First Steps, there’s no shortage of movies to watch on the big screen. Here’s a quick look at the movies we’re planning to watch this summer, and why they might be worth your time too.
Jurassic World: Rebirth - 2nd July

Out with Chris Pratt and the original old-timers, and in with Scarlett Johansson as a government agent escorting scientists Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey on a secret mission to recover dino DNA that inevitably goes awry. The movie is set to dive into the consequences of human-dinosaur coexistence, with the return of Colin Trevorrow as director. Jurassic World: Rebirth promises more thrilling action and tense dinosaur chases this summer.
The official synopsis: “Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind".
Jurassic World: Rebirth is out in cinemas everywhere now.
Superman: Legacy - 11th July

Superman is just weeks away from hitting the big screen, and we’re ready to be taken up, up, and away by a bold new take on the Man of Steel.
The stakes couldn’t be higher for this iconic hero’s return. Superman: Legacy promises to deliver a fresh perspective on Clark Kent’s origin story, reimagining the legendary character for a new generation.
Marking the official launch of the DCU—the newly rebooted DC Extended Universe—Superman is already shaping up to be the most talked-about superhero movie of 2025.
While plot details remain tightly under wraps (it is a DC movie, after all), the film is said to be heavily inspired by Grant Morrison’s critically acclaimed comic series All-Star Superman (2005–2008). Expect appearances from fan favorites like Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, Metamorpho, and more.
Catch Superman: Legacy in cinemas everywhere from Friday 11th July.
The Smurfs Movie - 18th July

Smurf up your summer by catching this family classic at cinemas everywhere from the 18th July.
When Papa Smurf is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, Smurfette (voiced by Rihanna), leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe. The new Smurfs movie features an all-star voice cast including Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter, Maya Erskine, Billie Lourd, Xolo Marideuna with Kurt Russell and John Goodman.
Guaranteed you’ll be laughing until you’re blue in the face.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps - 25th July

Pedro Pascal is making his long-awaited on-screen MCU debut as Mister Fantastic, joining Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing - Marvel’s First Family.
The Marvel Phase 6 opener also stars Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer.
Since it’s a Marvel movie, of course, much of the plot is still tightly under wraps… But here’s what we do know:
First we know from the post-credit scene in Thunderbolts* and the casting announcements for Avengers: Doomsday that the Fantastic Four will come to Earth - 616. The reason for their arrival hasn’t been officially revealed, but many suspect it ties into their iconic nemesis, Victor Von Doom (played by none other than Robert Downey Jr.), who’s poised to be the big bad of Doomsday.
We also know that First Steps will feature the arrival of Galactus—a cosmic entity who must consume planets to survive.
Official synopsis: Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer. And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
A lot rides on Marvel’s latest attempt to bring the First Family of comics to the big screen. Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s - inspired, retro-futuristic world, we're beyond excited to see what the Fantastic Four and the MCU have in store for the next phase.
