Things to do this Summer!

We’ve all been waiting for summer to arrive for what feels like years.

With lockdown restrictions finally being lifted for us UK folk, the time to safely book your summer plans has arrived.

If you’re one of the many people who have struggled to get a table at your favourite spot - indoors or outdoors, the time has finally come to get your planner out and start booking!

After an entire year of restrictions and not being able to have fun and see friends and family, it seems as if the people of the UK are very much ready to get back to normality again. 

Over the past few months, restaurants, beauty salons, gyms and non-essential shops have opened their doors again. We’ve also seen the reopening of museums, art galleries, theatres and cinemas.

Exhibitions, festivals and events that were postponed finally have new dates, Theatre shows are back in action, we can finally do human things again!

With school holidays fast approaching, and social activities back on the calendar, it’s time to start planning your summer with the kids.

Whether it’s a trip to a theme park, or a day out exploring castles and nature trails, there are plenty of things to do this summer and we’ve rounded up some of the best ones for you and your family to enjoy!

Visit a Theme Park

Roller Coasters, hook a duck, donuts, and overpriced food, oh how we’ve missed summer trips to the theme parks!

Have a picnic

Pack your wicker basket with your favorite picnic foods and enjoy the feast as well as the weather.

Take a road trip to somewhere new

Pick a spot on the map, get in your car and just drive. Make a list of all the things you would like to do along the way too! There’s nothing more exciting than going on an adventure.

Be a tourist in your own city

Take the time to visit more than just your usual hangout places. Be a tourist in your own city, town or village and go someplace new and you may be surprised by just how wonderful your home is. If you live in a city, most cities have free tours too. You could discover streets, shops, and landmarks that you never knew existed

Go to the beach

Good food, good company, and warm outdoor weather, what more could you ask for?

Having an Ultimate BBQ is one of the best ways to while away a boring Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Everyone has their own specific style when it comes to BBQ’s so do not let anyone tell you anything about what you like. You go right ahead and grill that meat the best way you know how. Enjoy!

Go somewhere you’ve never been before

Accomplishing this bucket list goal doesn’t mean that you have to travel to the ultimate location, just go somewhere you have never been. It could be something as simple as visiting a new park in your city or taking a day trip to a nearby town that you have been meaning to explore.

Mini Golf

Who doesn’t love a game of mini golf? It’s time to get competitive and have fun at the same obviously! A great activity for all the family to take part in! Also a great day date idea for all the couples out there!

Go camping

No phones, no gadgets and the great outdoors. Camping is a wonderful activity for the entire family, as it allows for bonding time and just quality time spent. Enjoy roasting marshmallows, telling ghost stories and laughing around a campfire over good times.

Host an outdoor movie night 

Rent, borrow or buy a movie projector, make some fresh popcorn and dig out those inflatable mattresses and bean bags to create your very own movie theatre outdoors. Grab a white bed sheet too for your makeshift movie screen. Then you can watch all your movie favourites! A summer movie night with the family has never looked so good!
