Things to do over the Christmas period 2021!

Things to do over the Christmas period 2021!

After last year's Christmas being basically cancelled, we've been getting into the festive spirit a lot earlier this year and are so excited to spread the Christmas cheer with all of you!

We are so excited for our social lives to be social and to spend some quality time with our families and friends again. Tis the season to be jolly after all!

With ice rinks returning and the Christmas markets stocked up with mulled wine and bratwursts, it's time to get festive! From stunning light trails to festive-themed movie screenings, this Christmas there's not a Zoom quiz in sight!

Now we know with everything opening up again, getting involved in the Christmas festivities with strangers again may be a little overwhelming, so in our list we've included activities that just involve you and your loved ones, so you can still get involved and feel as festive as ever.

If you don't know where to start this Christmas season, here's our round up of some of the best Christmas events to get involved in this year.

Visit a Christmas Market

The Christmas markets are BACK! We've been waiting for this moment for what feels like forever. From a wide range of traditional gifts and baked goods to the yummiest selection of food and drink, there really is no better way than to get involved in the festivities than to visit your local Christmas market!

Winter Wonderland

Located in the heart of London in Hyde Park, immerse yourself in all things festive at the famous Winter Wonderland! For 6 weeks from the 19th November, Winter Wonderland has been named one of the best destinations in the UK for festive fun! There really is something for everyone to enjoy and is proven to be very popular every year!

Go Ice Skating

Who doesn't love going Ice skating?! Temporary ice rinks are now popping up all over the UK ready for the festive season. You have to agree that ice skating is amongst the must-do activities at Christmas (even if you do have to hold onto the sides or use a penguin guide!).

Christmas Movie Marathon

Thanks to all the streaming services out there, there are so many Christmas movies to choose from to binge watch over the Christmas period! Whether you fancy watching something new or love watching the classics, there's nothing better than having a hot chocolate, getting your cosies on and watching a festive movie.

Make your own Christmas ornaments

It's time put your creativity skills to use! This time of year the shops are always busy and trying to follow a colour scheme can be proven very difficult to stick to, so why not create your own Christmas ornaments? This can be a great activity for the kids to join in on too! You could also make a competition out of it for the most creative Christmas decoration...

Create your own Christmas playlist

With so many Christmas songs, new and old, it's a little overwhelming when someone asks you to pick a Christmas song to put on. To save you from having to listen to ones you're not too keen on, why not make your own Christmas playlist? Whether it's for yourself to listen to whilst putting the tree up or one for all the family to enjoy, creating a playlist is so much fun and can even become a family tradition!

Make your own Christmas wreath for the front door

Another activity for the creative heads out there! Nothing screams getting into the festive spirit like making a Christmas wreath!

Start a new tradition

Christmas time is the perfect time to start a new tradition and it really can be anything! From a special dish you cook every year to wearing the same matching Christmas pyjamas. The options are endless and it's entirely up to you!

Bake up some Christmas themed goodies

From gingerbread to cupcakes, there are endless amounts of festive treats to bake this Christmas season!

Build a Snowman

Of course we would need snow for that and by the looks of the weather forecast it's looking like we may be getting some sooner than expected. If we're lucky enough to get some snow over the Christmas holiday then get creative with your ideas! Remember - you don't always have to stick to the traditional snowman look!

Pick out your own Christmas tree

If you have always gone for an artificial Christmas tree, then why not switch it up this year? Visit your local Christmas tree farm and pick out your own Christmas tree. It's an experience that the whole family can get involved in too!

Go and see some Reindeer

How festive can one get this year you may ask? Well visiting Reindeer has got to be up there at the top of the list! Oh and make sure you say hello to Rudolph for us!

Build a Gingerbread house

Who doesn't love a competition? Get the whole family involved and build your own Gingerbread house! You could even go the extra mile and bake your own Gingerbread house too if you would like!

Get matching pyjamas!

Over the past few years, matching Christmas pyjamas have been the new thing for couples and families to get involved with and we are so here for it!
