2021 NEW Music Releases

2021 NEW Music Releases

2020 was a great year for new music despite the pandemic disrupting plans and cancelling tours across the globe.

Amid all the chaos and the uncertainty of 2020, many artists rose to the occasion and treated us to some surprise albums and singles that let's face it - probably wouldn’t have had the pleasure of listening to if it weren't for lockdown.

As we enter the new year, it can only mean one thing… new music!

From You Me At Six's SUCKAPUNCH and Adele’s much-anticipated fourth album to talented newcomer Madison Beers debut and Justin Bieber’s latest — here are the new releases you need to add to your playlist in 2021.

You Me At Six

One of the biggest British rock bands of the 21st Century are kicking 2021 off with a bang with the highly anticipated release of their seventh studio album, SUCKAPUNCH.

The band have said: "SUCKAPUNCH defines us, collectively and as individuals. We haven’t put together a more important album.”

The album features 11 tracks featuring the lead single ‘Beautiful Way’ which was released back in September 2020.

To go alongside the release of their upcoming seventh studio album, You Me At Six have announced a six-date UK headline tour for May 2021. Fingers crossed that it still goes ahead!

SUCKAPUNCH is set for release on January 15th 2021 via Underdog Records/ AWAL.

Foo Fighters

Only five days into the new year and Foo Fighters have already treated us to a brand new single “No Son of Mine” ahead of the release of their forthcoming 10th album Medicine At Midnight.

Foo Fighters are back with their 10th studio album and is a step away from their usual post-grunge/ rock genre. The new sound for this album was inspired by David Bowie’s Let’s Dance Album and lead singer, Dave Grohl has expressed how much they are looking forward to the change.

Medicine at Midnight is set for release on February 5th 2021 and is available to pre-order now.

Madison Beer

Now if you’re a fan of the likes of Ariana Grande then you will LOVE Madison Beer.

Life Support is the upcoming debut studio album by the 21 year old American singer/songwriter and will feature singles Good in Goodbye, Selfish and Baby

Madison has said that this album will honestly share her feelings about difficult subjects, such as toxic relationships and mental health struggles.

As far as female vocalists go, Madison Beer is one not to be missed. Her talent is incredible and if her previous single releases and her 2018 EP 'As She Pleases' are anything to go by, then her first studio album is going to be EPIC!

Life Support is scheduled for release on 26th February 2021 by Epic Records.

Lana Del Rey

Following the success of her book ‘Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass’ in 2020, Lana shows no signs of slowing down in 2021.

Alongside another book coming out in 2021 called ‘Behind The Iron Gates - Insights From An Institution’, the six-time Grammy nominee is also hoping to release another album this year!

At the end of last year, Lana Del Rey shared the trailer for her ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’ video. The single, which also marks the title track of Lana’s forthcoming album, will be released on the 11th January - the same day that fans can pre-order the highly-anticipated LP.

Lana’s sixth studio album Chemtrails Over The Country Club was expected to drop back in September 2020 but then got pushed back due to Coronavirus. Now, the highly anticipated album is expected to be released soon  - exact date yet to be announced.

Lewis Capaldi

Everybody’s favourite Scottish singer songwriter has revealed that he is taking a break from social media to finish his second album.

In true Lewis Capaldi fashion, Lewis didn’t hold back from mocking himself as usual in his statement on Twitter yesterday. He has promised fans that his next album will probably be “universally panned by critics”.

2020 has been an incredible year for Lewis Capaldi. From topping the charts to his emotional ballads becoming the biggest soundtrack of the 2020 pandemic, we only expect bigger things for Lewis in 2021.

Lewis’s second studio album will hopefully be gracing our ears “later in the year”.

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber kicked 2021 off the right way with releasing a brand new single called ‘Anyone’ on January 1st. Justin premiered his new single (which we absolutely LOVE by the way) during his T-Mobile sponsored New Year’s Eve concert.

In a statement, Bieber described ‘Anyone’ as a “special, hopeful and anthemic song. It sets the tone for a brighter new year full of hope and possibility.”

Watch the video for the new single and you will also see the Canadian pop star with NO TATTOOS!

Rihanna

Is 2021 the year that we FINALLY will be seeing the return of RiRi in the charts? SPOILER ALERT! Rihanna has recently said that she wants to take her music to a different level in 2021.

In 2019, we hoped for new music from Rihanna.

In 2020, we ALSO hoped and prayed for new music from Rihanna.

Same again this year?

We refuse to give hope, so come on Rihanna, give us what we want and spoil us with some new music PLEASE. We’d even be happy with just a single.

Drake

During a recent Instagram Live, Canadian rapper Drake described his forthcoming album as one that some fans may like but insisted that it was “music to evolve to”.

Certified Lover Boy will be Drake’s sixth studio album since his 2010 debut. Since then, he has become one of the most successful rappers of all time.

The exact release date for Certified Lover Boy has yet to be announced but rumour has it, it's set for release this month.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding has revealed that she plans to kick off 2011 by releasing new music.

During an Instagram Live, the ‘Love Me Like You Do’ singer songwriter told fans they can expect to hear a new song from her by the end of January.

In response to a fan asking what her plans were for releasing new music, Ellie’s own words were: “Well, what do we all have to lose… end of January.”

This comes just six months after we were treated to Ellie’s fourth studio album Brightest Blue which debuted at Number one on the Official Albums Chart.

Adele

In hope of 2021 being a brighter new year full of hope and possibility, the rumours of a potential new album from Adele could really be what everybody needs in 2021.

In 2020, we were convinced that 2020 would be the year of Adele’s return as it’s been five years since the release of 25, but the global pandemic had other plans.

With hints and speculations being thrown around left, right and centre, we hope that at some point in 2021, Adele swoops in and saves the day with her fourth studio album.

Come on girl, do it for your fellow Brits!

Zayn

Back in September, former One Direction member and new dad Zayn released a single called “Better” fueling anticipation for a brand new album. The single is rumoured to have been the lead track from his forthcoming third album and some think the record could also be called Better, but that is yet to be confirmed.

Since leaving One Direction in 2015, Zayn has released two albums ‘Mind of Mine’ and ‘Icarus Falls’. Following the newly released single, a statement accompanying the track said “Zayn is making the music he has always wanted to.”

Billie Eilish

Last year, we were blessed with Billie’s quarantine hit Therefore I Am, with the music video following her around an empty shopping mall.  Now what can we expect from our favourite green haired girl in 2021?

Billie and her brother Finneas are back at it again and have teamed up to work on her next album. Despite there being no set date when it will be out, Billie has teased at a “New Era” for 2021. Let’s face it, whatever Billie and Finneas come up with next, it’s most definitely going to blow up quickly.
