New movie releases in July

July is looking like one exciting month for all us movie fanatics out there!

On Wednesday (May 7th) we saw the highly anticipated release of Black Marvel from Marvel Studios - and let’s just say WOW! (Black Movie movie review coming soon on the blog)

And next week on Friday 16th July, two exciting new movies will be coming to a a screen near you.

Family friendly big screen content seems to be out in full force this summer, giving children and adults alike plenty of escape for everyone over the holidays.

Here are some movies to look forward to in July:

A release date we’ve all been waiting for! The long-awaited sequel to one of cinema’s most classic family films, Space Jam 2: A New Legacy is hitting cinemas in just seven days!

The follow-up to the 1996 classic finds basketball legend and modern day superstar, LeBron James teaming up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes squad to defeat the Goon Squad on the court - a team which is powered up of virtual avatars of professional basketball stars. Good luck Tune Squad!

Following in the footsteps of basketball great, Michael Jordan in the 90s classic, LeBron is playing for his son, who has been kidnapped by a rogue A.I.

You best believe that we are off to the cinemas next Friday to watch Space Jam 2: A New Legacy.

The Croods 2: A New Age 

Prehistoric family The Croods are back to their old shenanigans in a dangerous, strange new world. 

Families can get lost in the ancient world of the Croodacious period, as everyone’s favourite prehistoric clan returns in The Croods 2: A New Age.

Grug continues to lead his family through an increasingly dangerous world, and although all seems saved when they stumble upon a secluded Eden of plenty, they discover they are not alone.

The Croods 2: A New Age is out in cinemas on Friday 16th!

And if the releases of Black Widow, Space Jam 2: A New Legacy and The Croods sequel just aren't enough for you, then check out what else is set for release in July!

Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans

The latest movie from Dreamworks sees the heroes from the Trollhunter series team up with heroes from 3Below and Wizards on an epic adventure to fight the Arcane Order for control over the magic that binds them all.

Arcadia may look like an ordinary town but it lies at the center of magical and mystical lines that makes it a nexus for many battles among otherworldly creatures including trolls, aliens and wizards. 

Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans is set for release on the 21st July exclusively on Netflix.

Jungle Cruise 

Board a thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank and researcher Dr.Lily. This star studded movie stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Emily Blunt and the hilarious Jack Whitehall. We’ve been excited to watch this movie ever since we watched the trailer and we can’t wait to watch Jack Whitehall star alongside The Rock - what a combo!

Jungle Cruise is set for release on July 30th

You can watch Jungle Cruise with Premier Access at the same time it’s in cinemas and before it’s available to all Disney + subscribers at a later date. 

Jungle Cruise is available to stream with Premier Access on July 30th for £19.99.

Spirit Untamed

Spirit Untamed is a feature-length version of the animated Netflix series Spirit Riding Free, alongside being a spin-off of the 2002 hand-drawn blockbuster Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

The new Spirit film follows a young girl called Lucky who moves to a tiny town called Miradero where she meets and bonds with the titular stallion. Together they must fight off an evil horse wrangler who plans to auction off Spirit to a lifetime of servitude and keep the stallion free in the wild.

The stallion is finally due to gallop onto UK screens on 30th July 2021 which will be nearly two months after its US premiere which was 4th June.

What film are you most looking forward to seeing this month? We may be bias because we sell Space Jam pyjamas, but we are so excited to watch the new Space Jam movie!
