Introducing Star on Disney +

Introducing Star on Disney +

Just when you think Disney + couldn’t get any better, they’ve only gone and introduced us to a whole new world of entertainment!

This time last year, we were all hyped for the launch of the new streaming platform and were so excited to relive our childhood through binge watching all of our favourite Disney movies.

One year on, and the hype is still there with the introduction to ‘Star’.

With already being home to a number of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic titles, we can now enjoy another wave of shows and movies from the sixth brand, Star.

Star is a new add on service on Disney + that will bring in films and series from Disney’s other franchises, as well as introducing Star Originals.

Disney + have described the exclusive add on as ‘More laughs. More drama. More thrills. More for you.’

The idea behind Star is to add more adult content that previously wouldn’t have sat comfortably alongside the family friendly content already on the platform. The Star brand will be home to television and movies from Disney’s creative studios, including Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios, 20th Television and more.

We can now enjoy more diverse and wide-ranging entertainment than ever before. Star sits alongside the five brilliant brands that we already know and love and joins as the sixth tile on our Disney+ app.

Of course, with more mature content being added to the platform, changes follow. Subscribers of Disney + can now enable parental controls and add pins to lock profiles. So you can stop your children from streaming Star titles that are intended for an older audience.

Luckily, if you are already subscribed to Disney + you do not have to do anything extra to gain access to Star as it’s all in the one package!

If you are yet to have a subscription to Disney +, you can sign up now for £79.90 for 1 year or £7.99 a month. As of the 23rd February when Star launched, the subscription price increased a little but if you are an existing annual UK subscriber and you renew before 23rd August 2021 then you will not have to pay the new fee until the next annual payment.

Now we’ve got all the useful information out of the way, it’s time to talk about what TV shows and movies are currently available on Star.

When Star launched on the 23rd February we were a little overwhelmed with how many TV shows and movies we were treated to.
