Move over Valentine's Day, February 13th is all about celebrating your love for your girls!

Celebrated the day before Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day is a day for ladies to celebrate other ladies and their friendships.

The new "holiday" began 10 years ago when the fictional Leslie Knope in Parks and Recreation introduced it to the world. 

"Oh, it's only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies."

The real love stories that deserve talking about are none other than the female friendships that we have watched blossom over the years.

There are so many iconic female friendships in TV and film, from Monica, Rachel & Phoebe in Friends to the iconic frenemies of the Upper East Side, Blair and Serena in Gossip Girl.

Relationships come and go, but like the Spice Girls once said, friendships never end.

There's no specific way to celebrate Galentine's Day. Whether you choose to go out or have a girls night, as long as you're with your girlfriends, then you're doing Galentine's Day right.
