An interview with Mischief_Marauder!✨

The Wizarding World is home to a HUGE community of Potterheads from all over the world. With Harry Potter being such a world wide phenomenon, the power of its magic has led to so many content creators dedicating their lives (and Instagram feeds) to the wizarding world. 

Rachel (@mischief_marauder) is a UK potter blogger, illustrator and proud Ravenclaw! Rachel created her Instagram account back in 2017 and ever since has continued to create amazing content all related to Harry Potter and the wizarding world. 

From hosting on the @wbtourlondon account to making a beauxbaton cosplay, Rachel now has over 44 thousand followers on Instagram and her community is still growing! 

With having previously worked with Rachel, we thought it would be great to (virtually) sit down with Rachel and ask her all things Harry Potter (and content creation!). 

What is your favourite thing about creating content?

I love making a warm homely Hogwarts feeling because that's always how it felt to me.

What/who inspires you?

I first made my account because my friend showed me TheGregWhoLived account at work and we thought it was really cool!

Who/what are some of your favourite HP accounts?

There's so many that I love! I feel lucky to have met so many wonderful people on Instagram.

How did you build up our following?

Sometimes I just feel really lucky but I won't lie, a lot of work and love has gone into my account the past few years.

What’s it like being a part of the Wizarding World community?

Magic!

You’ve been to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour AND the Wizarding World in Orlando, Florida, what are some of your favourite spots to take pictures?

Everywhere! Especially the Great Hall and Platform 9 3\4 in London. In Orlando I couldn't believe how magical Diagon Alley was.

Favourite thing about the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London?

That it is actually the real sets and props! It's so cool seeing the costumes and all the little details close up that you miss out on screen.

If you could live by any Harry Potter quote, which one would you choose?

"Eat, you'll feel better" especially when it comes to chocolate. And "Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light".

So we know that you’re a Ravenclaw, but if you had to choose another Hogwarts house to be a part of, which one would you choose and why?

Gryffindor, I could do with more bravery sometimes. And the common room looks cosy!

Favourite Harry Potter film/scene and why?

Prisoner of Azkaban because it has lots of my favourite things in - Professor Lupin, the marauders, Buckbeak and Hermione helping to save the day.

If you could be any character from Harry Potter, who would you be and why?

Luna Lovegood, I wish I had her confidence to wear whatever I want and not care what anyone else thinks!

What is your Patronus?

On Pottermore it was some sort of horse- but in my head it's definitely a bird. Maybe even a phoenix.

If you could cast any spell, which one would you choose?

Accio because I lose things all the time!

Do you have a favourite piece of HP merch?

I love my original set of books because it's where it all started, and my skiving snack box because it's such a fun piece of merch.
